Niseko Village New Gondola: Shin Mori-no Gondola Opens in 2026
Niseko Village is preparing one of its most significant lift upgrades in decades.
The new eight-person Shin Mori-no Gondola will replace the ageing Mori-no Chair and approximately double its passenger capacity.
When will the new Niseko Village gondola open?
The Shin Mori-no Gondola will open in two stages:
December 2026: Base station to the mid-mountain station
December 2027: Extension from mid-mountain to the upper station
The 86 cabins will include four VIP cabins with tables and two glass-floor “Sky View” cabins. The mid-station design should also allow partial operation when conditions higher on the mountain deteriorate.
What other Niseko Village lift upgrades are planned?
Alongside an upgrade to the Wonderland Chair, the project will consolidate five older lifts into two gondola sections and a modernised chairlift.
What does the new gondola mean for Niseko Village?
For Niseko Village property owners and visitors, the practical benefits are straightforward: warmer journeys, increased capacity and improved access to the mountain.
