Fairmont Niseko to Open Near Niseko Village in 2028
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is bringing its second Japanese property to Niseko.
Scheduled to open in early 2028, Fairmont Niseko will revive the stalled New World La Plume development in Higashiyama, approximately 1.2 km from Niseko Village Ski Resort.
Set across nine acres of forest between Mount Yotei and Mount Annupuri, the resort is planned to include 165 rooms, five villas, two restaurants, an onsen, spa and wellness facilities, and a kids’ club.
Tokyo-based J-Will Partners acquired the unfinished development following the failure of its previous owner. Daiken Sekkei is leading the architecture, with interiors by Steve Leung Design Group.
The exact address has not yet been announced, but the project’s location places it close to Niseko Village while offering panoramic views of Mount Yotei.
Fairmont’s arrival adds another major international luxury brand to the growing Niseko Village and Higashiyama area—and brings one of Niseko’s largest stalled resort projects back to life.
